The African Pygmy Goat is perhaps the most important domestic animal in the forest districts of West & Central Africa. They are a true miniature because their body conformation is so similar to that of the larger dairy breeds. They are fine-boned and come in an array of colors. Their hair is short and fine during the summer, but they can adapt to colder climates by producing a thick, wooly undercoat. They are very hardy goats. The Pygmy Goat is a miniature of a dairy goat with a milk production that is quite generous for their small size. They are also used as a meat goat. They are excellent at clearing brush. The African Pygmy Goats are very docile, comical and smart. They have a life expectancy of 15 yrs. Their fun loving actions are very entertaining and they are easy to care for.

The Fainting Goat, also known as Myotonic Goat, is a breed of domestic goat whose muscles freeze for roughtly 10 seconds when startled. Though painless, this generally results in the animal collapsing on its side. This characteristic is caused by a hereditary genetic disorder called myotonia congenita. When startled, younger goats will stiffen and fall over. Older goats learn to spread their legs or lean against something when startled, and often they continue to run about in an awkward, stiff-legged shuffle. Fainting goats are slightly smaller than standard breeds of goats. They are classified as a meat goat but also produce a good amount of milk. They come in as many colors as any other breed of goat. Their hair can be short or long, with certain individuals producing a great deal of cashmere during colder months. The unique characteristic of "fainting" in no way affects their health or longevity. Their life expectancy is 12-15 years. They are easy to care for and great for the smaller farms. They are excellent brush clearers and because of the myotonia congenita they do dot challenge fences as vigorously as other goat breeds. The Fainting Goat is very friendly, intelligent, easy keepers and are quite amusing!
